Even though San Francisco is one of the wealthiest cities in the world, one in six the Excelsior / Outer Mission / Bernal Heights residents live with the daily threat of hunger.
The Excelsior Community Food Pantry distributes food from the SF / Marin Food Bank to the food insecure. It serves 400 clients every Saturday, rain or shine, and relies on its volunteers to get it done. Volunteers staff tables of food and give produce, dairy products, grains, & meat directly to the families in need.
It's a great opportunity to build community, from Brown alums & the pantry volunteers to the diverse neighbors of the Excelsior, with service, respect, and care. All age volunteers are welcome (children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult). Serve your city, share smiles & nourishment, & get to know your neighbors! Sign up!
