Meet the Brown Club of Greater San Francisco Board!

Emilio Flores ‘09, Board Co-President

Emilio grew up in the East Bay and returned in 2010 following graduation and a year living in Denmark. He concentrated in Urban Studies and serves as CEO of Caldwell Flores Winters Inc., a consulting firm specializing in public school construction and finance. While at Brown, he spent most of his time at WBRU, Brown’s former commercial radio station, serving as a late-night blues and jazz DJ, onsite promotions coordinator, and intern director.

Must-eats when in Providence: A Texas Ranger with fries at Spike’s Junkyard Dogs and a slice of BBQ chicken tortellini pizza at Antonio’s.

Favorite Programming for Alumni: hiking events, GCB West Happy Hours, multi-generational alumni events

Ashley King-Bischof ’07, Board Member

Ashley is a native of the Far East Bay, her affectionate term for the region. While at Brown, she played Varsity Basketball and was active in tech entrepreneurship. She holds two fond memories: winning an Ivy League Conference title in 2006 and placing as a semifinalist in the Rhode Island Business Plan Competition. She discovered nonprofit management and development economics within her Business Economics concentration, which inspired her to merge these interests into a lifelong commitment of social impact through leveraging technology, working across Sub-Saharan Africa over the past decade.

Ashley also serves as President of the Brown Club of East Africa. She is excited to dance, hoop, and connect with the Brown alumni community in the Bay Area.

Dave Morris '88, Treasurer

Dave has served Brown in a variety of capacities since he graduated.  He’s been on the Board of the Brown Clubs of DC, New York, and now Greater San Francisco.  He’s also been a class officer for his class and has served as a BASC Area Chair and Regional Coordinator.  At Brown, though concentrating in Political Science, he took classes in 13 other departments and ultimately got a Masters in Engineering (from one of our Ivy rivals) despite never taking a math class at Brown.  He is also one of the few Brown alumni to host a Brown Club event on his roof.  While not wealthy enough to donate a building to Brown, he did donate an electrical outlet.

What he misses about Brown:  Dave has fond memories of the days when you could reach anyone on campus via four-digit dialing from ubiquitous outdoor Campus Phones.  He even suggested some mnemonic phone numbers for campus institutions such as x3663 for the Ratty, x2665 for the Rock, x2677 for the Dept. of Public Safety, and x7425 for Health Services.  Sadly, none were implemented.  (Hint: look at your phone to figure it out.)
